Stormcast Eternals - Liberators and Prosecutors

Age of Sgimar - Starter Set - Stormcast Eternals part 1

Today I wanted to present the first batch of Stormcast Eternals from the Age of Sigmar Starter Set (along with 3 extra liberators from an easy to build box that I received).

Overall I think they came out quite nicely. The thing I'm least proud of are the prosecutors wings - I did not anticipate they would require so much effort and given this was one of the last steps before completing the whole batch I was short on patience :) I also think I should have used a lighter grey and be more precise with the glaze to make it easier to achieve a smooth transition to the white highlights.

I will be continuing my work on Stormcast Eternals from the starter set and an extra Storm of Sigmar box, that I purchased to get a full 5 man unit of Retributors and 15 liberators. This should allow me to have enough minis to at least build a force that I can use in a 1k points game. Also I purchased a better Airbrush (H&S Evolution 2in1 - quite an investment) and wanted to do some experimentation with it, starting with undershading the next batch and painting the gold using the airbrush.

Last but not least I'm experimenting a little bit with basing - I tried different tufts and bushes, I also used a few parts of baked super sculpey textured with Green Stuff World's rolling pins on the prosecutors bases, to simulate ruins. I put some blue glaze on them to make them more "arcane". I think the ruins are fine, but I'm not convinced with the color, need to do some more experimentation.  I also think I can put more ruins on the bases to make them more interesting. I have already put more elements on bases of the hereos, that I'll be painting next.

Warhammer Quest: Silver Tower - last part

Finishing Silver Tower

I managed to finish painting the heroes miniatures from Warhammer Quest: Silver Tower. Overall it has been a quite long and demanding project, but definitely a very rewarding one. Silver Tower was my first game from Games Workshop that I painted and I have to admit their miniatures are in a different league than anything else I painted so far.

There's definitely a lot I still need to improve on - in the final miniatures the thing I was struggling the most with were the gradients on Gaunt Summoner's cloth and the Ogroid's skin. The later's skin engravings have also given me quite a headache :) All in all I learned a ton and I'm looking forward to painting the next GW set. I want to build my first small army for Age of Sigmar, starting with the Stormcast Eternals from the starter set.

Update:

I bought a new camera, so I took some new pictures (unfortunately pictures were taken in the evening with artificial light). Do you like the quality better?
